30 April 2026 – The Ministry of Transport of North Macedonia has announced the results of its electric bus procurement tender launched in February of this year, in which Electrobus Europe Ltd., a member of the Ikarus Group, proved to be the best bidder and is set to receive the contract for the delivery of 150 purely electric-drive urban solo buses and 75 charging stations. This is Ikarus's most successful electric bus public procurement by unit volume to date, and represents a strategically significant regional reference.

Within the framework of the procurement, 100 buses will strengthen public transport in Skopje, while the remaining 50 vehicles will be delivered to other cities in North Macedonia, making this one of the most significant electric bus procurements in the region this year.

The opportunity for this outstanding new order by volume demonstrates a strong validation of Ikarus's technical preparedness and international competitiveness, and is a key milestone in the successful implementation of our company's market strategy, through which we reinforce our position in the electric vehicle market of Central and South-Eastern Europe. We are particularly proud that our offer is built on the collaboration of multiple nations and cultures, and that at key points of implementation we can rely on the expertise of local North Macedonian companies.

- János Hunor Kelemen, Sales Director of the Ikarus Group
