Smartbus
Ikarus buses are equipped with systems that are used for collecting, processing and transmitting the information generated on the bus to data users. The types of information generated on the bus are diverse, thus Ikarus is constantly improving its intelligent bus functions.
Passenger information system
Each vehicle will be equipped with a passenger information
system with functions specified by the operators.
Cameras
The vehicles are equipped with external and internal cameras that
are able to record and transmit the video signals in accordance
with the legislations. The internal cameras can be switched to
infrared mode on request, which allows counting the passengers
anonymously and even to display the passengers' body temperature.
The driver can see the images from the cameras on the display on
the dashboard.
On-board entertainment systems
Wi-Fi and USB chargers are available on the vehicles for the
passengers. User conditions will be specified by the operators of
the buses. If required, screens may be placed to the passenger
compartment, on which the operator will be able to display films or
information to the passengers.
Feedback on economical driving
An application that registers the driver's driving style
(acceleration, braking, speed, turning) and provides a clear
analysis based on the data collected from the vehicle's driveline
and braking system, as well as the vehicle's position (GPS). By
using this app, operators can develop training materials and
disseminate the best driving style in terms of passenger comfort
and economical operation of the vehicle.
Warning system for maintenance
With the results provided by the sensors installed on the
vehicle’s maintenance-intensive units, the system can predict
required maintenance times. The maintenance period of the
components of the vehicles is generally highly dependent on the
conditions of use, hence some vehicles are sent for maintenance too
early and some too late. In the first case there is a possibility
of an increase in costs, and the second can result is malfunction.
The app allows the operator to schedule maintenance at the time
that is economically the most optimal.
Battery charging status indicator
Electric buses arrive at the site with different battery charges at
the end of the daily route. At most of the sites, the electrical
charging infrastructure is designed to charge several buses in a
row, which are connected to the same charging structure. With the
help of the app, the operator can optimize the charging order of
the buses, thus increasing the number of vehicles that can be
served with one charging structure.
The technology that enables intelligent bus services:
• Sensors and cameras located at different points of the
vehicle
• On-board data collecting,
recording, processing and communicating equipment
•
Application of Big Data and
artificial intelligence methods in data processing
•
4G and 5G mobile
communication
